4.5.2　The steps of an adjustable ladder shall be self-leveling, or shall be of rolled form as shown in figure 3, so as to present a suitable step surface at all operating angles.

4.6　The defined free space (W) shall be 500 mm or more.

　

4.7　Steel parts shall be galvanized by hot dipping or shall be adequately treated for prevention corrosion.

　

4.8　Contact faces between steel parts and aluminium alloy parts shall be coated with appropriate paint, or adequate insulation materials shall be inserted for protection from galvanic action.

　

5　Materials

　

The materials of the ladders shall be as given in Table 2 or at least the equivalent.
