Resolutions second meeting ISO/TC 8/SC 10 Maldon, UK 1998-10-11

 

Resolution 10 - Drafting committee

ISO/TC 8/SC 10 appoint the following members to the drafting committee:

Mr. Kim Fisher, UK

Mr. Hans-Christoph Schade, Germany.

 

Resolution 11 - Further progress

SC 10 notes the progress of WG 1 on drafting a Standard Guide for Implementation of a Fleet Management System Network.

SC 10 urges WG 1 to prepare for a Committee Draft by the beginning of December 1998.

 

Resolution 12 - General Principles.... NWIP Item 10.14/IMO link 31

SC 10 notes the new work item proposal (SC 10/N 41) prepared by Mr. Alastair C. Messer, UK.

SC 10 considers that the title should be more descriptive of the task i.e. "General Principles and Criteria for Dependable Programmable Systems for Marine Application". SC 10 further considers that the relevant document "IEC 60945 General Requirements" be added to the list of horizontal standards. With these changes SC 10 requests that the new work item proposal be returned to the SC 10 secretariat for balloting.

 

Resolution 13 - Shipboard Loading Instruments - NWIP Item 10.15/IMO link 45

SC 10 notes the new work item proposal concerning Shipboard Loading Instruments.

SC 10 advice that Mr. Schilling, USA contacts Mr. Kelman of SARC. BV in Holland who also has interest in the topic. Mr. Schilling is requested to submit a new work item proposal form after this consultation. The secretary will supply the form to Mr. Schilling.

 

Resolution 14 - Ship Operations Data Model Requirements - NWIP Item 10.17/IMO link 54

SC 10 notes the new work item proposal from Mr. Story on Ship Operation Data Model Requirements. SC 10 requests Mr. Story to re-submit the proposal as two items considering "Ship Operations Data Dictionary" and "Ship Safety Record".

 

Resolution 15 - Ship Safety Records - NWIP Item 10.17/IMO link 54 (See Resolution 14)

SC 10 has considered the proposal for a Joint Working Group between ISO/TC 184/SC 4 and ISO/TC 8/SC 10 on the topic of developing a standard for "Ship Operational Logs ". SC 10 has concluded that the task can be achieved more efficiently by TC 184/SC 4 alone with special input from ISO/TC 8/SC 10 members.

SC 10 will proceed with a new work item proposal concerning "Ship Safety Records". Members of ISO/TC 184/SC 4 are invited to participate in this work.
