7.4 Liaisons and co-operation
The organizations listed as liaison contacts to (SC 10/N 33) shall be maintained unchanged. At the Hamburg meeting it was recommended that SC 10 should seek liaison to the IEC/TC 18. (Resolution 5-19979). A proposal for establishing a Category A was forwarded to CEO in October 1997. However, ISO/CS has not confirmed agreement with this proposal.
The secretariat shall remind ISO/CEO of the lacking confirmation.

SC 10/N 35 Ship Operational Logs, Records, and Messages
Resolution 15 - Ship Safety Records - NWIP Item 10.17/IMO link 54 (See Resolution 14)
SC 10 has considered the proposal for a Joint Working Group between ISO/TC 184/SC 4 and ISO/TC 8/SC 10 on the topic of developing a standard for "Ship Operational Logs".
SC 10 has concluded that the task can be achieved more efficiently by TC 184/SC 4 alone with special input from ISO/TC 8/SC 10 members.
SC 10 will proceed with a new work item proposal concerning "Ship Safety Record". Members of ISO/TC 184/SC 4 are invited to participate in this work.
9. Requirements concerning subsequent meeting
The meeting agreed that SC 10 should meet again in one year's time. Hopefully it shall be possible to arrange the third meeting of SC 10 preceding the plenary meeting of TC 8 in Tokyo 20-22 October 1999. The secretary will contact the Japanese host for booking of suitable meeting room and other facilities.
10. Any other business
