After introduction extensive discussions have taken place to reach consensus on the item both within the SC4 ships team (WG3/T23) and within TC8, and of TCS/SC10, Computer Applications, Staffan Robertsson.
There is now consensus that a joint working group between TC8/SC 10 and TC184/SC4 would be the best solution to progress the above-mentioned NWI.
Both SCs will need to agree on this resolution.
At their next meetings ISO TC184/SC4 and ISO TC8/SC10 will both be voting on a resolution to establish a JWG under SC10 for the NWI "Ship Operational Logs, Records, and Messages". When this JWG is established it is expected that work item 10.17 can be incorporated in this work (IMO link No 54).
