WG 1： Launching appliances for davit-launched lifeboats
Task： Based on IMO resolution A： 689(17) - Testing of life saving appliances, 1983 Amendments to SOLAS 1974 and ISO 6067, incorporating ISO/CD 6066-1+2 to develop WI 15516： Ships and marine technology-launching appliances for davit-launched lifeboats.
Work items assigned to WG 1： (04.26).

Participation： China, Denmark (Mr. Kaj Pedersen), Italy, Germany, Romania, Sweden, Ukraine, United Kingdom and ISO/TC 8/SC 1 (Mr. K.Heinz).
WG 2： Deck machinery
Task： Anchoring and mooring system, cargo system, lifting gear, towing system, control gear for hull closure, accommodation ladder, accommodation ladder winch, Launching appliances for survival craft or rescue boat, and ship-to-shore interface etc.
Work items assigned to WG 2： (04.04), (04.05), (04.11), (04.15), (04.16) and (04.22).

Participation： China, Denmark, Germany, Japan (correspondent), Norway and USA.
WG 3： Outfitting
Task： Anchor, anchor chain, bollard, fairlead and mooring fittings etc.
Work items assigned to WG 3：(04.01), (04.17), (04.19) and (04.28).
Convener： An expert to be appointed.
Participation： China, Denmark, Germany, USA and others (to be determined).
Changes
During the 16th plenary meeting of ISO/TC 8 held in Hamburg in October 1997, Denmark, Japan, Germany, Norway and USA would like to join WG 2, but Japan is correspondent, Denmark, Germany and USA would like to join WG 3, but Denmark is not in the position to assume responsibility of convener.
