Water Management Plan and the equipment comply with the provisions of this Annex, and shall be subject to periodic surveys, as appropriate.
3 Information on ballast water, carried by each ship, shall be recorded on board the ship and made readily available to the appropriate authorities.
Regulation 8: Role of national authorities
1 The Government of each Party to the Convention undertakes to ensure that the requirements of this Annex are implemented in a uniform manner within its jurisdiction, with minimum risks and associated costs to the environment and at a minimum cost and without causing undue delay to ships.
2 The Government of each Party to the Convention shall notify the Organization [for evaluation,] review and evaluation, information on:
.1 significant incidents of harmful aquatic organisms and pathogens in the area under its jurisdiction, likely to be of relevance to ballast water uptake and/or its discharge;
.2 the location and capacities of any facilities for the reception, treatment or safe disposal of ballast water and sediments, as appropriate;
.3 new ballast water treatment or management techniques and control procedures;
.4 any concerns associated with the application of the provisions of these regulations.
