FUJIKI, a 7,570-dwt Car and General Cargo Carrier
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) delivered the 7,570-dwt car and general cargo carrier FUJIKI to Fujiki Kaiun Kaisha, LTD. (present name Fujitrans Corporation) of Japan at the Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works in February 1995.
Features
1. FUJIKI has 7 car decks including two decks for trailer chassis. It is designed to carry not only cars and trailer chassis, but also various types of trucks, buses, fork- lifts, containers, heavy vehicles with caterpilars, and other general cargoes.
2. The ship is equipped with two aft car ladders on both sides with the maximum design load of 50 tons. One gastight ramp cover (abt.45.9m×abt. 5.3m) is equipped for better utilization of the cargo hold.
3. Bow and stern thrusters are used for safer and prompter maneuverability. Also U-type antirolling tank is installed on upper deck for avoidance of cargo damages and comfort of the crews.
