The 12,283-dwt self loading/unloading cement carrier ASIA CEMENT NO.6 built by the Taihei Works of the Shin Kurushima Dockyard Co., Ltd. was delivered in December 1995 to the U-MING Marine Transport Corp. of Republic of China (TAIWAN).
The vessel was designed and buih for ocean transport of cement.
The four cement holds are arranged inside the double hulls construction to meet subdivision arrangement requirement of SOLAS for stability for dry cargo in case of ship damage.
The NORDSTROMS cement loading/unloading system has the capacity of 1000t/h mechanically loading, 600t/h pneumatically loading, 660t/h mechanically unloading and 300t/h pneumatically unloading.
