This vessel is a 23,000-dwt open hatch type bulk carrier built at the Shimonoseki Shipyard & Machinery Works of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) and delivered upon completion to the Neptune Gemini Shipping Corp. on March 25, 1995.
Features
・There are five box type cargo holds. Both the No. 2 & 4 holds have a length of 30.6m which permits the loading of long cargoes.
・The vessel is provided with a mechanical-driven ventilation device and a dry air plant, which control environmental conditions inside each hold.
・The hatch covers are of the electric-hydraulic end folding type. In order to improve cargo handling efficiency, the breadth of the No. 1 hatch cover is 10.8m, while that of each of the Nos. 2, 3, 4 & 5 covers is as wide as 19.8m.
・Three 30t electric-hydraulic deck cranes are installed on board.
・The vessel is provided with lashing metal for loading containers on hatch covers, and the tank top has a strength capable of bearing a load of five stacked containers.
・The engine department is made to MO specifications so as to simplify the work of the crew.
