KATJA, Double-Hull Aframax Tanker
Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. has built the double-hull Aframax tanker KATJA at its Oppama Shipyard. The vessel was delivered to Lundquist Shipping Company, Ltd. in August 1995
The vessel meets the latest requirements for double hull tankers, new MARPOL regulations adopted at IMO MEPC 32, and the United States OPA 90 concerning tank arrangement, double-hull dimensions and vessel stability.
