259,995-dwt Crude Oil Tanker NAVIX AZALEA
Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., Sakaide Works, delivered the 259,995-dwt crude oil tanker NAVIX AZALEA to Polaris Tanker Corporation in April 1995.
Features
1. The vessel has thirteen (13) cargo tanks: five (5) center cargo tanks, three (3) pairs of side cargo tanks, and one (1) pair of slop tank.
2. Submerged pumps in the ballast tanks and ballast pipes do not pass through the cargo oil tanks to prevent sea water pollution by oil.
3. Simple and rational structures such as a strut structure for wing tanks, a half-height swash bulkhead etc. are adopted.
4. Vibration is eliminated by a KHI- developed damp tank in the aft peak tank, which reduces the propeller exciting force.
5. The low fuel consumption of 77.4t/day is achieved by energy saving techniques.
