High-Speed Aluminum Car Ferry SEA BIRD
Hitachi Zosen Corporation has built so many high speed passenger crafts such as hydrofoils, semiplainning high speed crafts, foilassisted catamarans, etc. in its Kanagawa Works.
Basing upon its rich experiences, Hitachi Zosen Corporation started research and development works on a high-speed aluminum ferry, cooperating with INCAT DESIGNS in 1991 and has completed a smart and attractive hull form design of 60 meter wave-piercing catamaran suitable for Japanese existent wharves and offshore ramps.
60 meter wave-piercing cataamaran ferry SEA BIRD is now under construction for the joint owners of Maritime Credit Corporation of Japan and Yasuda Ocean Vessel Co., Ltd. at Kanagawa Works and will be in service between Nagasaki and Kushikino from Spring 1997.
