Kindness

Kindness does not rest alone upon another's breast, Yet of the essence of love, it is the best test.

Kindness can check the cruel beast of anger, Civilize us, and hold and fend off danger. Upon universal human kindness we then await To free our world of its cruelty and hate. Those who in others kindness find Must then in all their actions be kind.

 

The popular song "What the world needs now is love, sweet love" is so true for all ages, especially the young and old.

Each of us may interpret work or play differently. What have you liked to do more than anything else? What effect would it have upon you if you could no longer do a specific thing, or not do it as well, perhaps because of accidents, diseases or the process of aging? Flying has been the most thrilling activity in my life. Even to fly as a passenger to Japan was a thrilling experience. For the pilot flying, although work, may bring great joy. (Slide) Flight expresses my innermost feelings.

 

Flight

There is so much joy and ecstasy in flight.

Watch the face of every adult or child with a kite.

Can there be a more compelling or beautiful sight Than birds flying past a full moon at night, Distant and approaching airplanes giving off light, The path of a colorful balloon or a streaking satellite, Or a leaf in gentle descent that brings delight?

There is so much joy and ecstasy in flight!

 

Keeping mentally alert, developing hobbies, and keeping as fit as age and physical ability allow help to alleviate the frustrations of no longer possessing the ability to do a cherished activity.

In Japan and the United States, and in many other countries, the work ethic is a most important attribute of our people. Work can easily take up most or all of our
