*Todaiji Temple
With the cooperation of Todaiji, a more than twelve centuries old Buddhist temple, you will have a rare opportunity to enter restricted areas. Observe with amazement a statue of Buddha towering all of l55 feet in the world's largest wooden building. Visit “Todaiji Seishien”, a rehabilitation hospital for disabled children (mostly with cerebral palsy), established forty years ago by Todaiji Temple.

The most precious cultural treasure in Japan from many points of view; historically, architecturally, sculpturally and pictorially. Its forty-five buildings, built from the seventh to seventeenth centuries, include some of the world's oldest (more than twelve centuries old) wooden buildings.
