HOW TO GET TO KYOTO
The main overseas routes to Kyoto are either through Kansai International Airport (Kanku) or New Tokyo International (Narita) Airport. Kanku is much closer to Kyoto than Narita. However, it has fewer international connections.
From Kanku: 75 min. by Airport express train.“HARUKA”, to Kyoto station.
From Narita: (l) 60-90 min. by train (JR Narita Express) or bus to Tokyo station. 2hrs. and 15min by Super Express “Hikari”(Shinkansen or“Bullet”train) from Tokyo station to Kyoto.
(2) Transfer to a domestic flight either to Osaka (Itami) Airport or to Kanku. It takes 60 min either way (the number of f1ights is limited). From Itami, 55 min. by Airport bus to Kyoto.
HOW TO TRAVEL IN JAPAN
Japan is full of interesting places. After the congress, if you wish to travel to Tokyo or other places in Japan, taking Super Express (Shinkansen or “Bul1et” train) is an easy way to go to major cities. Please consult the JTB Travel Desk at the congress site for any travel arrangements.
AIRPORT TAX
When you leave Japan, you must pay a passenger service facility charge, or “airport tax”. The airport tax ticket is sold by an automatic vending machine.
