Table 3-3 shows the findings of the survey into the situation relating to commuter flows in and out of the inner city area of Cape Town.
The total number of trips into the inner city area remains fairly stable at slightly over 100,000 trips, and there have also been no major changes in the modes of transport used. However, between 1994 and 1995 a major change did occur in that the utilization of buses fell and the use of taxis (combination taxis) increased sharply.
