CHAPTER 3 TRANSPORTATION DEMAND IN THE INNER CITY AREA
3.1 Outline
With regard to the state of traffic in Cape Town's inner city area (also known as City Bowl),the city administration annually carries out a survey into commuter flows at peak times.
Furthermore, regarding commuter trips in the metropolitan region originating in and departing from the inner city area, a door-to-door survey was carried out in 1991.
Based on these existing materials, estimation shall here be made of the number of trips perzone originating in and departing from the inner city area.
