streak cameras, and also obtains data on laser ray propagation using atmospheric

thermal flow characteristics: Clarifies influence of various parameters on vortex
generation and thermal conductivity characteristics, through visualization of
flow by PTV method and also through data analysis of thermal conductivity experiments.
Numerical analysis of pulsating flow: Analytically clarifies pulsating flow characteristics
based on numerical analysis of the same pulsating flow system used in the flow
visualization experiment. Parameters at analysis are pulsating frequency, pulsating
amplitude and so forth. |

environmental research in Japan and in foreign countries to select research subjects
to be commenced immediately. Creates case studies to decide research projects
on environmental problems including exhaust gas from marine engines, paint coating,
bilge water, spilled oil, global environmental problems including CO2 control,
scrapping and reuse of ships, instrumentation of chemical material measurement,
simulation technology of contamination material spreading etc. Determines which
research groups are responsible and what research is to be conducted for those
problems such as LCA, ship scrapping, oil pollution, ballast water, marine remote
sensing and exhaust gas from marine engines. |

of marine engine's reliability and rationalization of inspection |

marine engines' reliability obtained at inspection. Discusses method to analyze
and evaluate data stored as database. Investigates, through questionnaire, high-speed

through analysis of problem generating mechanism. (5) Investigates fuel characteristics

data obtained by experiments applying vapor pressure to piping system. Conducts
strength experiment of marine instruments, for which standardization is to be

double non-reverse flow bulbs to decrease chattering phenomenon in bulbs. |
