1. Status of DIS15516

　After the last TC8 Plenary meeting in Dominica, we have taken some effective measures to proceed the project successfully. In March 2002, we submitted the finished ISO/DIS15516 《 Ships and marine technology―― Launching appliances for davit-launched lifeboats》 (WG1) and its explanatory report to ISO Central Secretariat. Up to now, DIS voting circulated by ISO/CS has been finished. We intend to finish this work on its schedule.

　

2. Status of AWI1704, AW13828, AW14568

　In accordance with the TC8 requirements in Dominica, we began to develop thc revision work of the following International Standards: ISO1704

　ISO3828 《 Ships and marine technology--Deck machinery--Vocabulary 》.(WG2. WG3)

　ISO4568 《 Shipbuilding--Sea-going vessels--Windlasses and anchor capstans》.(WG2)

　In April 2002, we circulated ballots on the three projects to all P- and O-members and liaisons of SC4. We finished registration of ISO1704, ISO3828 and ISO4568 at ISO/CS. We established three Working Groups to deal with these projects and three Chinese experts are the conveners of the three Working Groups. They are acting as the editor-in-chief of these projects and they will finish the first working drafts on schedule according to the ISO/CS working plan. Meanwhile, we sincerely wish that more P- member bodies of TC8/SC4 could participate actively in development of these projects and nominate some qualified experts to our Working Groups.

　

3. Result of Systematic Review in 2002

　In April 2002, We received the request from ISO/CS to conduct a Systematic Review of three TC8/SC4 standards (They are ISO3078: 1987, ISO6325: 1987, ISO8314: 1987) .We distributed the voting ballots to all P- and O- members and liaisons of SC4. Finally, all of the voters agreed with the confirmation status of the International Standards mentioned above. We submitted the Results of three Systematic Reviews of ISO Standards (N67, N68, N69) to ISO/CS on July 8, 2002.

　

　

　

　

Resolution 1

　ISO/TC8/SC4 appoints the following members to the drafting committee: Mr. Howard Hime(USA), Mr. Victor Carrell(United Kingdom) Mr. Choi Jae-ho(Korea),Mr. Sung-Hung Yang(Korea), Mr. Jae-Seong Park(Korea) and Mr. Liu Zhen (SC4 Secretariat).

　

Resolution 2

a. ISO/TC8/SC4 approves the Report (N79) from the Secretariat.

　

b. ISO/TC8/SC4 approves the Report on Program of work from the Secretariat.

-- ISO/TC8/SC4 asks the Secretariat to finish the work of ISO/DIS 15516 on the schedule settled by ISO/CS taking into account comments received during recent voting..

--All the participants appreciate that the Chinese experts are acting as the editor-in-chief of the projects ( ISO 1704, ISO 3828, ISO 4568 ) and request that more P-member bodies of TC8/SC4 participate actively in development of the work.

　

Resolution 3

　The 4^th plenary meeting of TC8/SC4 will be held within two years. The date and venue will be determined.
