ISO/TC 188/WG 22 - SMALL CRAFT/STABILITY
REPORT TO PLENARY - 2002
General
WG 22 has not met since the last report to the plenary meeting of TC 188.
The period has been occupied with editing and voting on all three Parts.
The CEN Consultant has continued to participate fully in the work, and consequently harmonisation for the purposes of the EU Recreational Craft Directive is expected to proceed smoothly.

Part 1: Non-Sailing Boats of Hull Length greater than or equal to 6 m
The FDIS text has been approved by 16 votes in favour to 2 against, with 4 abstentions.

Part 2: Sailing Boats of Hull Length greater than or equal to 6 m
The FDIS text has been approved by 18 votes in favour to 0 against, with 4 abstentions.

Part 3: Boats of Hull Length less than 6 m
The FDIS text has been approved by 17 votes in favour to 1 against, with 2 abstentions.

Conclusion
All three Parts of the Standard are now approved, and only minor editorial amendments remain to be made before publication can take place.

I should like to thank everyone concerned for their hard work, perseverance and patience over the last twelve years, including members of the working group (both past and present), the CEN Consultant, all those involved in validation testing, TC 188 and BSI secretariats, as well as ICOMIA, the UK Department of Trade and Industry and the British Marine Federation.

It has been a privilege to work with you all.

Andrew G. Blyih, Convenor
