So I am going to present about the suburban and circular rail service. At the commencement of operations on the suburban rail system started in 1954, services were provided by six steam engine traction train sets. So this is a circular rail route and map of the circular rail route. Next please, so you can see in this; some are data of the passenger carried by the circular rail route. In 1961 there are total daily passenger is 66 thousand, in 1965 it increase up to 87.7 and in 1970 it drop down to 74.5, in 1975 it drop down to 59.6; in 1982 increased up to 70.3 now. So in 1993, 86.9. So this is the present situation. In 1992, the numbers of train run here and the daily passenger carried by the circular rail suburban rail is 53.3, 51.1 52.7, 53.7, 53.9 and then in 1997, 63.2 then 1999/2000 is 71.04. Next please. So if we compare with the 1982 and 1992 the passenger carried by rail line is 86.9 thousand and 86 thousand passenger. So nowadays the passenger carried by circular rail is less than the last decade.

So I am going to present Yangon City Development Committee's roles in Urban Transportation. Since the population of Yangon has increased the city has to be increased in accordance with the demand of the inhabitants. So in older days there are a lot of fish and marine product whole sellers are situated here and so the problem of transportation in CBD is congested not only on the main road but also in the link road here. So the YCDC has now moved some of the marine and fish product whole sellers to Bayint Naung business center, here in Kamayut. Some of the bus stations who are in the CBD before are moved to the Kamayut high way terminal, Sawbwagyi Gone highway terminal and so YCDC realized that there are a lot of congestion occur in the CBD area. So the construction of Bayintnaung wholesale shops for relocating fish and marine products, food stuff and general commodities wholesale dealers from the CBD and the construction of the Kamaryut long distance passenger bus depot terminals which had gained a foothold for many years within the CBD. The construction of Sawbwagyigone long distance bus terminals, truck depots and wholesale brokerage shops are relocated. The long distance bus and truck terminals / stations and construction materials whole sale shops were constructed to ease the traffic congestion in Yangon City. By construction of new roads, renovation of the old roads and the widening of the same narrow roads, we have controlled the traffic here. It is a new road construction of Baho road to link the main road. This is; a YCDC setting up of the traffic control light here, most of the junction in the CBD area has been established the signal lights by YCDC.

I am going to present about the traffic growth and volumes. This is the graph for the traffic increase from 1991 to 2000 year. This is number of vehicles registered in Yangon City here. In 1991 the total vehicles registered in Yangon is about 81 thousand now it increase up to 137 thousand. So total vehicle increased about 69% and public vehicles increased about 39%.
