Nowadays, the Close Supervisory Committee is headed by Dy. Commander of Yangon Division Command and Commanders of Military Region, Chairmen of District Peace and Development Council, the Chairman, Secretary and one member of YDBCC, representatives of bus owners, drivers and Conductor are also committee members.

So the committee reviews weekly periodical performance of YDBCC, bus line operation. In 1982 the thick lines on the map show the routes and average daily trips operated by RTC, Rangoon Transport Corporation, private & co-operative bus service and how many buses run on that line. In terms of passenger demand individual RTC services from Insein, Mingalardone, Kokkine at that time 50,000 passengers on average daily in 1982. The combined average daily total of those three routes at that times was over 330,000 and the bus mark is not animal sign now they come the bus line no 1,2,3, and so on.

So next, (pointing to the chart) this is the Yangon City Bus performance from 1974 to 1982. In 1974 Road Transport Corporation run 361 buses at that time the private sectors run about 376. In 1978 the bus comedown to 255 and then in 1982, 348 at that time the private sectors increase up to 562. The percentage of the total passenger carried by Road Transportation Corporation was 31.5% and by private sectors was 56.1%. At that time we can see the total passengers increase year by year up to now. There is a 770,000 a day and one million one five two now and 1.6 now. In 1982, the buses carried about 1.621 million and taxi carried about 246,000 and ferries carried about 24,000 and trishaws carried about 60,000 and suburban rail carried abut 86 thousand. So totally the passengers commute in 1982 is about 2 million. Now public transportation situation in 1993 to 1994 is shown in chart. The passengers carried by regular bus is about 575,000, by medium bus is about 232,000 and if we calculate total number with the number of passengers by other bus types it become around 2.3 million increasing years by year now.

So I am going to present the present situation of public transportation in Yangon. At present Yangon Division Bus Control Committee is a main role in the passenger transportation. They carry about 1.9 million per day now. Another bus line in YDBCC, we have around 114 bus lines and average running car is about 2224 numbers now. Another bus service line is Nyein Chan Yae. They have cars about 25 buses service lines average running cars are 463 and carried about 347 thousand. Another bus service line is Than Myan Thu, they have 15 service lines. The running cars are 414 and carried about 137 thousand. Another line is Bandoola, they have 5 service lines 154 cars buses and carried about 109 thousand passengers. The last one, Zay Yar Min is the only one bus service line; they have 8 buses and carries about 8,000 per day. So totally nowadays the commuter depend on the bus services is about 2.5 million now. If we combine and added with the some other transport is about 2.8 million nowadays. (Pointing to the map) This is the transportation net work of the Yangon. So when we compare with the last map, the most of the transport services are served along the North to South. Nowadays there are many West to East lines are served. Those transports Network expand to the North and North East of the central business district now. This is provided for good distribution of traffic by way of single carriage way. There are most of the traffic lines are now extended to the six lane and four lane now. So in old days there are only way out from the CBD to the North. We have depended on the Pyay Road, KabaAye Road. Nowadays there are many ways out from the CBD because of the extension of the Kanner Road and the construction of the Bayintnaung Road and some are Baho Road. So there are many way out from the CBD.
