Miura Introduces New Type Shipboard Incinerator
A new type incinerator for marine use, developed in early 1998 by Miura Co., Ltd., was recently granted a type certificate by Lloyd's Register of Shipping, and introduced to the market. Miura is a leading manufacturer of marine boilers and small once-through boilers.
The newly marketed incinerator is type-certified as an incinerator meeting the requirements under the MARPOL 73/78 Annex VI, to become effective on January 1, 2000, and under "CE Marking" for "EU Flag" vessels, in effect since January 1, 1999.
The incinerator can safely and easily burn waste oil and solid wastes generating on board in compliance with the IMO's MEPC 76 (40).
Main features
1. A unique furnace structure making possible smoke-free stable incineration from the beginning.
2. Permits loading of 20 kg of solid wastes at a time, and its simultaneous incineration together with waste oil.
3. A unique dioxin-suppressing design rapidly brings down the exhaust temperature to 200℃ or below.
4. An air atomizing type burner with proven performance is further adapted for installation in this incinerator.
5. The negative pressure in the furnace and the cooling of combustion gas are accomplished with an ejector structure.
Line-up
・The line-up of the products consists of three types of 301 kW, 417 kW and 650 kW in capacity.
・This incinerator is packaged and easy to install in its intended site.
