The advantages of decentralization

・Residents will be able to decide for themselves what should be done for their communities through their own local governments.

・The roles and responsibilities of government at the national, prefectural and community level will be more clearly defined, making it impossible for authorities at any level to shirk their responsibilities.

・Instead of being controlled by the uniform standards of the central government and its "vertically divided" bureaucracy, residents will be able to enjoy diversified government services that match the needs of local conditions.

・Government control and interference in local government will be reduced to a minimum, saving labor and expenditure, and simplifying the amount of red tape residents must deal with.
