? THE DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES:
The microscopy services : there are 2 references laboratories in Ha Noi and HCMC.
61 provincial laboratories and 557 district laboratories.
The cultural services and susceptibility testing are performed only in the 2 references laboratories.
Susceptibility testing is performed mainly for epidemiological studying.
The quality control is conducted regularly at provincial and national level. All smear positive, and 20% of smear (-), must be sent to the higher level for checking.
?- IMPLEMNTATION
From 1986 onwards, the programme was gradually introduced province by province and within provinces, district by district. The NITRD in Ha Noi is responsible for the implementation in the country as a whole but has delegated this responsibility to the PNT Center in HCMC with regard to the 21 southern provinces.
