Gentlemen:
This is with regards to your letter of inquiry dated 14 August 1997.
Question 1:
The National Telecommunicafions Commission (NTC), confirms item requirements mention in our inspection report form attach as Annex-A.
Question 2:
It is very seldom that inspectors conduct on-the-spot inspections. Inspections are scheduled at renewal period of ship license and ship safety certificates. Quality Control are covered by inspection report (Q-1).
Question 3:
NTC Inspectors only carry out physical and/or visual inspections on automatic release devices.
Question 4:
The period of validity should conform with the existing regulation on equipment required for in the International Radio Regulation. Batteries should be checked for maintenance or replaced three (3) months prior to expiration as indicated in the manufacturer's specification of the equipment.
