2. The 5th lumbar vertebra belonging to a subadult female aged about 16 years (T.50; S.43-84 B). The two laminae are not joined posteriorly to form the spine; a case of spina bifida (arrow).
3. Four separate teeth belonging to an adult male about 45 years of age (T.50; S.70 C). Notice the calcarious deposits at the roots of the teeth (arrows).

Notice the ossified anterior longitudinal ligament (arrows); a case of dystrophic idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH). 8. Two broken parts of the parietal bone of a skull belonging to an old adult male over 60 years of age (T.56; S.50-79 A). The cut sections of the bones show that they consist mainly of diploe whereas the outer and inner tables are no more distinguished (arrows).
9. The lower end of the left humerus of an old adult male over 60 years of age (T.56; S.50-79 A). The articular surfaces of the trochlea and capitulum show marked degenerative osteoarthritis in the form of pitting together with elevated areas of bone formation (arrows). Lipping of the edges of the articular surfaces can be seen (arrowheads).
