6.3 Communication Type
Fig. 12 shows the distribution of communication type. As Captain plays a major role in bridge communication, we categorize communication type into five, (1) report to Captain, (2) order from Captain, (3) query from Captain. (4) notice from Captain and (5) others. As Fig 11 shows, report to Captain is observed most frequently in both trainings. However, communication in Training B shows that both of Captain and other crews are positively contribute to communications.
Fig,12 Communication start pattern
In both of trainings, suggestions by crews to captain are hardly observed. Basically, most of decision making is done by Captain on his own, and cooperation are conducted in situation awareness and action phase in team decision making process.
6.4 Exchanged Information per Crew
Fig.13 shows the distribution of exchanges that are started by Captain. In both of trainings, types of exchanged information are clearly separated based on original work assignments. 2/0 deals with watching other ships, 3/0 is responsible for engine control and positioning. Q/M is responsible for helm.

On the contrary, exchanges, which are started by 2/O and 3/O, show more diversity (shown in Fig. 14). 2/O starts conversation not only about other ships, but also about own position and speed. 3/O also starts conversation about other ships. Those charts show that dynamic work assignment is not done by Captain, but is done by crews' voluntary supports. Specifically, exchanges started by 3/O show low frequency, but shows high diversity. It is assumed that 3/0 positively covers other crews' jobs, because his task loads are lower than others.
