Resolution 209
TC8 adopts the Draft Agenda in document 8 N 965 after addition of the following items.
1) Item 5.4 Nomination of TC8 Chairman
2) Item 6.3 The Alliance with TC67 and TC104
3) Item 7.1 Relationship among TC8 Chairman, Subcommittee Chairmen, Secretaries and ISO/TMB in work progress
4) Item 10. which is passed to Advisory meeting
Resolution 210
The following members are appointed to the drafting committee; Mr. Hime (USA), Mr. Carrell (UK), Mr. Gutierrez Fraile (Spain), and Mr. Ogo (TC8 secretariat)
Resolution 211
Noting that current term of TC8 Chairman expires at the end of 2003, the members of TC8 recognized the excellent leadership of our Chairman and unanimously elected Capt. Charles Piersall as Chairman of TC8 for another term of three years ending December 2006.
Resolution 212
TC8 agrees to the request of SC1 to establish new Liaisons with ISO/TC92/SC1 (Fire initiation and growth), and ISO/TC145/SC2 (Safety identification, signs, shapes, symbols and colours).
Resolution 213
Noting that Mr. Thomas Hopkins is resigning as Chairman of SC3 effective December 2002, TC8 members agreed to the appointment of Mr. Joseph Byrne (USA) as new Chairman of SC3 by unanimous decision pending confirmation of UK’s position by BSI Headquarters.
Resolution 214
TC8 unanimously agreed to the reappointment of Mr. Yurity Rumiantesev (Russian Federation) as Chairman of SC7 for another three year term ending December 2005.
Resolution 215
Noting that Romania failed to vote on two consecutive TC8/SC8 ballots, TC8 officially requests the ISO/CS to remind Romania of their obligation, as P-member, to vote.
Resolution 216
TC8 officially requests ISO/CS to provide, by 15th November 2002, following status information on FDIS 19018 and FDIS 19019

Resolution 217
TC8 noted progress of ISO/CD 16917, Data transfer standard for maritime and intermodal transportation and security, to proceed as a Publicly Available Specification and officially requests ISO/CS to publish the PAS no later than 1st December 2002 to support the presentation to the IMO Diplomatic Conference.
Resolution 218
Noting the retirement of Mr. Staffan Robertsson (Norway) as Chairman of SC10 at the end of his current term, TC8 members agreed to the appointment of Mr. Ornulf Jan Rodseth (Norway) as the new Chairman of SC10 by unanimous decision pending confirmation of UK’s position by BSI Headquarters.
Resolution 219
Noting that TC8 has been requested to initiate standards for Mega-yachts, TC8 members are requested to nominate the experts of their countries to undertake this work and report back to the Chairman and Secretary of TC8 by 1st January 2003.
Resolution 220
ISO/TC8 thanks Mr. Jeong Je Kim, Mr. Jae Wook Lee, Mr. Dong Chul Kim, Administrator of Korean Agency for Technology and Standards, KATS staff, Mr. Keh Sik Min, President and CEO Hyundai Heavy Industries, Mr. Sang Young Ahn, Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, and the Korea Shipbuilders’ Association for their excellent hospitality and for the excellent facilities provided for the 21st Plenary meeting in Republic of Korea.
Resolution 221
TC8 members accepted the offer from Mr. Hime, the USA Representative, and agreed unanimously to the appointment of Mr. Scott McCrory, (USA), as Chairman, SC5 and Mr. Jack Roeber (USA), as Secretary SC5.
Resolution No.209 to No.221 are approved by the committee members.
