Resolution 204
ISO/TC8 took note that Korea Dem P.R. of (CSK) has been unresponsive to SC1 correspondence and letters with no action by ISO/CS since 1999 (see N957 Annex1 paragraph 3.4 ) and directed ISO/TC8 secretariat to send letter to ISO/CS, Mr. Mike Smith with copy to Mr. Abram, that, if nothing positive is received from ISO/CS or Korean Dem P.R. of (CSK) by December 31, 2001, Korean Dem P.R. of (CSK) will be deleted as P member of ISO/TC8/SC1. |
ISO/CS sent a official letter to CSK on 2002-04-09, requesting to inform formal response as P-member by 10 May 2002, and if there would be no positive response by that date, CSK will automatically have its status changed to O-member of TC8/SC1. (by M.A.Smith, Director of Stan.Dep.) |

TC/8 approves the document 8N 962 as the official TC8 Liaison List. |

Resolution 206
In view of the threshold times established recently by the ISO TMB for cancellation of inactive work items, ISO/TC8 directs the TC8 Secretariat to monitor the status of registered work items in each TC 8 Subcommittee to ensure that target dates do not exceed TMB threshold dates established by the ISO/CS. The TC 8 Secretariat will notify Subcommittee Chairmen and Secretariats in cases where he observes that Subcommittee target dates are about to exceed TMB thresholds. Subcommittee Chairmen shall take action to avoid breaking TMB thresholds, where possible. If the TC 8 Secretariat sees a conflict with ISO/CS recorded dates that form the basis for TMB thresholds, the TC 8 Secretariat will communicate with the ISO/CS to resolve such conflicts. Any unresolved conflicts will be referred to the TC 8 Chairman. |
Under discussion at TC8/AG TC8 secretariat applied the target dates (Maximum overall development time for IS) of 36 month ( original target date) for each work items in 8N1000R7, but consideration on realistic target dates would be discussed at the AG meeting. |

5.2 Status of Chairman and Secretariat for SC5

SC5 secretariat (Denmark) has formally relinquished on 1st of May 2002. and Demark According to the Resolution below, TC8/SC6 took over the current two work items in terms of administrative aspect only that could be possible for present SC6. It was the Report that the scope of SC5 may change for the future. For now, we should consider it as a basic scope subject to substantial revision |
Discussion on the scope of SC5 would be done at the Plenary |

Resolution 21
Noting that Denmark has relinquished their position as Chairman and Secretariat of ISO/TC 8 SC5, ISO/TC 8 AG requested ISO/TC 8 SC6 to add to their work program the current work items of ISO/TC 8 SC5. In addition, until a new Secretariat and Chairman can be identified, ISO/TC 8 SC5 will be dormant. |
Prof. Iijima, Chairman of SC6 and Mr.Molstrand, SC5 secretary had a meeting for the issues in Tokyo on 2002-04-13 Poland expressed the difficulty to assume the Chairman and secretariat of SC5 |

Regarding the "Possible proposals for New Work Items"of SC5, the Chairman requested Prof. Iijima to investigate feasibility and communicate with Mr. Molstrand, Secretary of TC8/SC5, about two possible proposals for NWIs. Two "Possible proposals for New Work Items"of SC5 are as follows; |

Taking into account the fact that many work items under consideration in SC3, a new Chairman of SC3 should be appointed urgently in TC8 |
