Part 2 - Ships and marine technology − Catalogue of shipboard safety signs and notices for guidelines for use
1 Scope
This International Standard gives standardized safety signs and safety notices to be used on board ships. Each safety sign is categorized and indexed according to the safety message that is to be conveyed. Each shipboard safety sign is provided with relevant information on the preferred format of us, the context in which it is used and displayed as well as a description of the intended audience. This catalogue is intended to be under continual revision as new shipboard safety signs and notices are added as and when new requirements are identified and corresponding safety signs and notices are developed and standardised.
The following normative documents contain provisions, which through reference in this text constitute provisions of this International Standard. For dated references, subsequent amendments to, or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, parties to agreements based on this International Standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document referred to applies. Members of ISO and IEC maintain registers of currently valid International Standards.
