Resolution 2/2002 ISO/AWI 16950 on Base Isolation Systems
ISO/TC 108/SC 2 decides to change the status of the approved work item AWI 16950 "Mechanical vibration and shock - Guidelines for the design and implementation of base isolation systems to attenuate ground vibration" and to register it as a stage "0" item (PWI). The status of this project will be reviewed at the next SC 2 meeting.

Resolution 3/2002 ISO 13373-2 on Data Processing, Analysis and Diagnostics for Vibration Condition Monitoring
ISO/TC 108/SC 2 decides that upon receipt of the text as revised at the meeting of WG 1, a 1st CD 13373-2 will be circulated to SC 2 members for voting. Target date for receipt of the text by the secretariat is August 2002.

Resolution 5/2002 AWI 20283 on Vibratory Acceleration Measurements for Shipboard Equipment
ISO/TC 108/SC 2 decides to change the work item AWI 20283 into a multi-part document with the following provisional parts :
Part 1 General...
Part 2 Mechanical vibration - Guide for the measurement, evaluation, and reporting of global structural vibration in merchant ships
Part 3 Mechanical vibration - Vibratory Acceleration measurements and acceptance criteria of shipboard equipment
Part 4 Mechanical Vibration - Guidelines for the Measurement and Evaluation of Ship Propulsion Machinery Vibration
Part 5 (future revision of ISO 6954:2001)
and to register parts 1, 2 and 4 as preliminary work items (PWI).
A first CD for part 3 will be circulated to SC 2 members for comments by end of November 2002.

A draft for part 4 is expected by end of January 2003 for circulation as NP.

Resolution 6/2002 ISO/WD 18649 on Bridge Vibration
Having considered the result of voting given by the secretariat at the meeting (all countries voting positively except Norway) and the report of WG 3, ISO/TC 108/SC 2 decides that the text revised according to the members comments will be submitted to ISO/CS for circulation as DIS.

Resolution 7/2002 ISO/AWI 9629 on Rail Track Geometry
ISO/TC 108/SC 2 decides to delete WI 9629 from its programme.

Resolution 8/2002 NP on...
SC 2 decides that a new work item proposal would be prepared to address "rail track geometry", that would make some use of ISO/DIS 9629, during August 2002.

Resolution 9/2002 ISO/CD 14839-2 on Vibration of AMB equipped Machinery
ISO/TC 108/SC 2 encourages WG 7 to discuss without delay the comments to be expected on the first CD 14839-2 and to give first priority to the finalisation of the text for a second CD or for DIS circulation. The development of further parts should be given a second priority.

Resolution 10/2002 ISO/WD 14837-1 on Prediction of Groundborne Vibration
According to the result of voting on CD 14837-1 (doc 108/2 N 372) and the discussion of comments received, ISO/TC 108/SC 2 decides to submit the revised text to ISO/CS for DIS circulation.

Resolution 12/2002 PWI on Human Subjective Assessment of Vibration and Noise Onboard Ships
ISO/TC 108/SC 2 decides to confirm the Croatian request to revive of the WI together with human assessment to establish confidence in the guidelines of ISO 6954. The common procedure for data collecting will be reviewed and adopted through the WI for establishing environmental guidelines according to new measuring procedures in ISO 6954.
