1. When you add or update fellows' information pages
(1)If the contact information of a fellow has changed, find the last name of the fellow, and update in "Contact Information" page.
 
(2)Click "Add New Fellow's Data" and add the new fellow's information when you are registering the fellow for the first time. On the other hand, there are many cases where fellows have already been registered. For example, you have one fellow whom you registered in the previous year as receiving a fellowship for the period September 2000 to June 2001. This fellowship information has already been registered under Fellowship (1). In the following year, the fellowship for this person is renewed so that he/she will receive a fellowship far another one year (e.g. September 2001 to June 2002). In this case, you should first find the previously registered record regarding the fellow whose Fellowship (1) is already completed, and add a new fellowship record (September 2001 to June 2002) under Fellowship (2). The Directory is able to accommodate fellowship and grant records for three years. In this manner, the first fellowship/grant record should be registered under Fellowship (1)/ Grant (1); and whenever a fellowship/grant is renewed for another year, you should add such a record under Fellowship (2) to (3)/ Grant (2) to (3).
 
2. Definition of "Fellowship" and "Grant"
Note the following definitions in updating "Fellowship" and "Grant" records
 
(1)"Fellowship" refers to support for tuition and fees, books, living expenses and other expenses provided for the fellow's study at his/her home SYLFF institution.
 
(2)"Grant" refers to support not included in "Fellowship", which includes expenses for field research grant, short-term travel grant, or any other type of support not for the fellow's study at his/her home SYLFF institution.
