このたび、阪神大震災から6年、生まれ変わろうとしている被災地の兵庫県に、当財団の支部が設立されました。その支部設立を記念して、日本太鼓チャリティーコンサートを開催できますことは、誠に喜ばしいことであります。

　財団法人日本太鼓連盟は、1997年11月に設立して以来、日本太鼓の演奏会、ジュニアコンクール、障害者大会、講習会、技能認定並びに国際交流等の事業を積極的に実施してきております。特に海外におきましては、太鼓の演奏が「日本の心」を伝えるものとして高く評価され、財団設立以降25カ国(12回)で公演を行い、各国において大変な好評を博しております。

　私どもは、これからも新たな公益活動を展開し、日本太鼓を国内のみならず国際的にも普及、発展させるべく最大の努力をしていく所存であります。

　本日のコンサートは、全国各地の代表的な日本太鼓チームをはじめ、震災より立ち上がり活動を始めた神戸の太鼓チーム並びに第3回日本太鼓ジュニアコンクールで優勝した大分県のゆふいん源流少年隊を加えた6チームによる演奏です。

　本日ご来場いただきました皆様には、日本を代表する伝統文化の一つであります日本太鼓を最後までごゆっくりとお楽しみいただき、本コンサートを通じ、日本太鼓に対するご関心とご理解をいただければ望外の幸せでございます。

　

　

　It is our great pleasure to present the Taiko Charity Concert this evening to celebrate the establishment of our local chapter, Hyogo Taiko Federation.

　Six years have passed since the Great Hanshin Earthquake of January 1995, and we are proud and extremely happy that Hyogo Taiko Federation was established signifying the revitalization and reconstruction of the region affected by the earthquake.

　Nippon Taiko Foundation was established in 1997, and now has 802 teams encompassing about 22,000 active Taiko players. Since the establishment, the foundation has successfully implemented many projects including Taiko concerts, Taiko Junior Competitions, Festivals for Handicapped Taiko Players, and various seminars and master courses.

　In the international arena, our foundation has dispatched Taiko member teams to 26 different countries, and in all the countries they visited, they were received with overwhelming enthusiasm. We intend to continue to develop new activities with the aim to preserve and further promote Taiko traditions nationally and internationally.

　This evening, five Taiko teams representing various regions in Japan will perform in addition to Hyogo Taiko Federation. We are also very pleased to introduce Yufuin Genryu Taiko Junior Team, this year's winner of the Third Nippon Taiko Junior Contest. We sincerely hope that you will enjoy this evening's concert.
