The association produces an official English- language publication in which the latest technologies and products of the Japanese ship machinery industry are featured to make this industry extensively known to foreign shipowners and shipbuilders. Two issues are scheduled for 2001.
Ship Machinery Department of JETRO New York Changes Director
The director of the Ship Machinery Department at JETRO, New York, introduced in Nos. 71 and 77 of Jsmea News was succeeded by a new appointee in May.
The new director is Mr. Masahiko Yoshida.

JETRO Singapore Closes Down Ship Machinery Department
The Ship Machinery Department at JETRO, Singapore, introduced in Nos.70 and 77 of Jsmea News, was closed down at the end of March 2001 after 27 years of important contributions to bridging Japan and Southeast Asian countries since its inauguration in March 1974.
