3. NATURE OF THE ORGANIZATION
Non-legal entity: Sporting body recognized by the Government as the body responsible for sport.
4. OBJECTIVES AND MISSIONS
Objectives:
1) Providing assistance to sport by coordinating funding received from a variety of sources, both locally and overseas.
2) Representing the interests of sport to Government and to various International controlling bodies for sport around the world.
3) Encouraging the development of sport in Tonga by assisting organizations to establish clear goals over the short, medium and long run. In addition, TASNOC provides administrative support to sport organization, a role it would like to expand by providing office space formal and informal meeting areas for each member.

7. SPECIAL EVENTS AND PROGRAMS
1) Solidarity program are encouraged to investigate new ways of providing support for their athletes development programs.
2) South Pacific Games: the TASANOC provide assistance in airfare, uniform through solidarity program same as Commonwealth and Olympic games,
3) Olympic Day Fun Run: The NOC provide T shirt and prizes for runners.
8. PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR THE TARGET GROUPS
1) School children (Age 6 to 12) :
Introducing mini tennis program to the primary school and also table tennis and create a primary school competition, rugby union as well.
2) Adolescents(Age 13 to 16) :
Supporting regular competition doing by secondary school in different areas in sport like athletic, rugby union, tennis, soccer, volleyball, table tennis, etc. We also give them a chance to build a national team from different areas to represent the country to the international competitions.
3) Adult women :
Encouraging for a club competition through the villages, from club competition to district competition and Up Island competition and lastly to international competition.
4) Employees at worh-sites :
Encouraging them to do a Ministry Competition, touch rugby match held in weekend.
5) General people in the community :
Giving chance to participate to a sport which they can be able to exercise like walking competition in the morning or evening.
6) Aged people :
Putting them to participate in the slow events like Olympic Day Fun Run.
7) People with disabilities :
Training them in special sport and put them into a competition up to the international tournament.
9. LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS
1) Workshop in Australia for the Sport Development Officer to deliver a segment from their Sport Education Programme or relevant sports topic, such as: introduction to finding sport information on the internet.
2) Workshop in Fiji about the Olympic education targeting for the Olympic Torch Relay.

12. PRESENT ISSUES AND CHALLENGES
The operations of the National Federation were hampered by lack of financial resources. More specially a lack of regular income. Another problem for inactive administration from some National Federation, Iack of local and international competition.
