6. SPORT PARTICIPATION SURVEY
SCP Social Cultural Planning office conducted "Time Expenditure Survey"taking samples from 3,000 in 1999. The result shows that 33% participated once a week and 65% once a month.

3. NATURE OF THE ORGANIZATION
Non-governmental organization: umbrella organisation for 93 sport federations in the Netherlands, representing 30,000 local sport clubs in 70 different branches of sport and about 4,800,000 individual members.
4. OBJECTIVES AND MISSIONS
We aim to realize a substantial growth in the percentage of the Dutch population that, through an active lifestyle with the emphasis on regular and sensible sports activity, have a positive influence on their own health. We try to reach the total Dutch population; youth, adults, 55-plus everyone with or without chronic diseases or disabilities.

7. SPECIAL EVENTS AND PROGRAMS
1) Since 1995 we coordinate an action program called "The Netherlands on the Move ! "
2) Between 1989 and 2000 several other campaigns were organized with the aim to enhance sport participation among youngsters (Jeugd in Beweging), immigrants (Sport is gaaf), women and disabled.
3) In October 2002 we will organize the 9th World Sport for All Congress. The congress theme will be "Sport for All and Elite sports: Rivals or Partners?"

10. NATIONAL PARTNERS
"The Netherlands on the Move!" is an action program of NOC*NSF in cooperation with the Netherlands Heart Foundation and the Dutch Cancer Society. "The Netherlands on the Move!" is financed by the Health Research and Development Council, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and the National Sports Lottery, among others.
