SPORT IN THE COUNTRY
 
1. TRADITIONAL SPORT AND GAMES
 Wushu (Chinese martial arts) as: Taijiquan (co-ordination among breathing and movement with mental concentration).
 Dragon boat: A group of person paddling in a long boat decorated with a dragon style.
 Dragon dance, Iion dance: People wearing a special costume moving like a dragon or a lion.
 The above traditional activities had thousands years of existence, and until now there's still lots of people practicing it.

6. SPORT PARTICIPATION SURVEY
 Macau Is currently conducting "Adult Pop ulation Physical Condition Survey"taking samples from 3,200 from February to November 2001.
 
7. NUMBER OF SPORT CLUB
 There are 600 sport clubs in our region.
 
8. FITNESS TESTING PROGRAM
 Standardized fitness test that is currently underway. It is the "Macau Adult Population Physical Condition Survey" and is conducted by MSDB from February 2001 to November 2001.

7. SPECIAL EVENTS AND PROGRAMS
 The events about Sport for All that MSDB organizes are:
 1) "The Beach Football, Beach Volleyball, Beach Handball Junior Tournament" - It had been organized for the youth, training classes before their participation at the tournament.
 2) "Kite Festival" - Teaching the pupils how to make a kite, participating after a competition.
 3) "International Challenge Day" - Challenging the rival city to see which one can move more citizens making sport activities in 15 minutes.
 4) "Walk Against Drugs" - Together with other public services organizing a promotion activity against drugs.
 5) "Summer Activities" - Let adolescent students(male & female) perform healthy and advantageous physical activities during their summer holidays as well as enrich their general knowledge about sport.
 6) "The Beach Football Tournament For Public Institutions" - Developing friendship and cooperation among employees of the public institutions.
 7) "World Walking Day" - Motivating the people in doing sport exercise for health.
 8) "Sand Sculpture Competition" - Make use of sands, Iet all-aged macau residents to perform healthy sculptural activities at Ha Sac beach.
 9) "Sport for All Games" - Sport for All promotional activity.
 10) "Sport Games Day for the Aged" - Celebrating the International Day for the Ages, motivating them to participate in sport activities.
 11) "Mini-Marathon" - Promoting run activity and fitness.
 12) "Health Maintenance Classes"- Swimming, gymnastic, mini-basketball, aerobic, football, beach football, beach handball, beach volleyball and windsurf. Motivating the people in doing sport exercise.
 
8. PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR THE TARGET GROUPS
 1) Infant and Pre-school children (Age 0 to 5) :
  Gymnastics, swimming classes
 2) School children (Age 6 to 12) :
  Gymnastics, swimming, mini-basketball, football classes, kite festival and fishing activities.
 3) Adolescents (Age 13 to 16) :
  The Beach Football, Beach Volleyball, Beach Handball Junior Tournament, Kite Festival and fishing activities.
 4) Adult women :
  Gymnastics, swimming classes, windsurf, fishing and basketball activities.
 5) General people in the community :
  International Challenge Day, World Walking Day, swimming classes, football and basketball activities.
 6) Aged people :
  Sport Games Day for the Aged and fishing activities.
 7) People with disabilities :
  Football and table tennis for handicaps promotional day.

12. PRESENT ISSUES AND CHALLENGES
 1) Because of the high population density in Macau (17,240/km2), there's a limitation for developing more sport facilities.
 2) The people of Macau are very much engaged with their work, it's difficult to find free time for leisure activities.
 3) The development of Sport for All movement in our region has just begun during this few years, the consciousness of sport in the citizen is not so strong.
