Re: Section 3.5.2.1 to 3.5.2.4 - Definitions of ventilation
UK Comment No.12
(45) I consider that the definitions are better to be described in paragraph 3.5.
Re: Section 3.5.3
UK Comment No.13
(46) I agree with the comment by the UK. Addition of the text for 3.5.3.1 in lieu of paragraph 3.5.3.2, proposed by the UK is acceptable.
Re: Section 4.1 - Provision of information
UK Comment No.14
(47) I consider that the paragraphs 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 of the existing Code are appropriate for paragraph 4.1. The part of paragraph 4.1.2 proposed by France can be incorporated in paragraph 4.1 with some modification, taking the coordinator's comment into account, as follows:

I agree with that the existing section 4.1.3 can be new section 4.2.1, as proposed by France. If the new sentences proposed by France and the Coordinator will be used in the draft BC Code, please consider the following comments No.48 to 51.
Re: Section 4.1.2 - Provision of information - new sentence
(48) I propose editorial amendment as follows:

(49) The following five paragraphs proposed should be substituted by the existing sentence in paragraph 4.1.2, i.e., "- chemical hazards such as toxicity, corrosively, etc.":
"- information on the chemical properties in the case of a bulk cargo not classified in accordance with the provisions of SOLAS VII/2, but which has chemical properties that may create a potential hazard.
- information about the toxic or flammable gases which may be generated by the cargo <Coordinator>
- information about the flammability, toxicity, corrosiveness and propensity to oxygen depletion of the cargo. <Coordinator>
- information about the self-heating properties of the cargo. <Coordinator>
- the likelihood of shifting <Coordinator>"
(50) The following sentences should be added:
"- angle of repose
- drainage to form wet base, etc.
- any other safety precautions"
Re: Section 4.1.3 to 4.1.5 - Provision of information - new sentences
(51) I propose to delete the paragraphs 4.1.3 to 4.1.5. The necessities of typical sentences for declaration and signature should be discussed in the Sub-Committee, first.
Re: Section 4.7 - Documentation required on board the ship carrying cargoes of group B, except MHB
(52) I consider that the it is not necessary to repeat the requirements in SOLAS Convention in the BC Code. Therefore, I am of the opinion that proposed paragraph 4.7 should be deleted.
Re: Section 5.1.1 - Trimming procedure, General precautions
(53) Regarding the proposed paragraph 5.1.1:
・ I propose to delete the first sentence in paragraph 5.1.1, because the inclusion of the explanation about the effect of trimming on minimization of entering of air into cargo may read to confusion. I further propose to the amend the second sentence as follows:
"5.1.1 To minimize the risk of shifting, cargoes should be trimmed reasonably."
