The Bulk Cargo Shipping Names (BCSNs) are the names given to those cargoes which are classified as MHB or which have not been included in the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code and used in the entries for individual cargoes other than dangerous goods. For the provision of information of cargoes other than dangerous goods, usage of BCSN is recommended when the cargo is included in the entries for individual cargoes. Alternative names can be used in addition to BCSNs.

(29) The information included in the first pages of the appendices A, B and C of the existing BC Code should be kept in the new BC Code. I consider that the appropriate position of the information included is on the top page of the new appendix for the entries for the individual cargoes. In the draft section 7.1.2 proposed by me, the information, i.e., "the list of the materials is not exhaustive", is included in the last paragraph (c.f. comment No.20). However, the sentence can also be moved in the top page of the appendix.
(30) Re: Usage of the words "material(s)" and "cargo(es)"
I am sorry for my rough proposal on the usage of the words "material(s)" and "cargo(es)". I examined the usage of the words again and propose as follows:
(30-1) Foreword
The word "cargo(es)" is more appropriate than "material(s)".
(30-2) Introduction
The word "cargo(es)" is more appropriate than "material(s)", except in the following sentences:
・ In paragraph 1.4, the words "bulk cargo materials" should be replaced by the words "bulk cargoes".
・ In paragraph 3.2.2, the words "grained material" should be retained as in the existing Code.
・ In paragraph 8.2, the words "granular materials" should be retained as in the existing Code.
(30-3) Section 1
The word "cargo(es)" is more appropriate than "material(s)", except in the following sentences:
・ In paragraph 1.1 (Angle of repose), the words "granular material" and "such material" should be retained as in the existing Code.
・ In paragraph 1.4 (Concentrate), the words "materials" should be retained as in the existing Code.
・ In paragraph 1.6 (FMP), the words "materials" should be retained as in the existing Code.
