BTC10-OJT Guidelines
1. It should be clearly understood that this OJT is to be simulation of PSC inspection.
2. All persons are to attend at the ship's office at once to meet the ship's master and the other persons concerned on OJT.
3. The sighting of the applicable ship's certificates and documents are to be carried out by a nominated person under watching by all other persons.
4. Participants shall proceed to check the PSC items as shown in the separate check list.
5. The inspection area is to be restricted within the navigation bridge, corridor in accommodations, engine room, steering gear room, boat deck and upper deck.
6. Any inquiry to the ship's equipment can be made to the ship's staff concerned on OJT stationed at the selected places.
7. Any assistance on OJT performance can be sought from PSC Officers attending onboard, training assistance or OSCC lecturer.
8. The Inspection is to be carried out visually, no physical inspection being required.
9. Every person shall record any findings during inspection in the checklist for subsequent discussion to be held at OSCC.
10. On completion of OJT, every person shall return to the ship s office and then leave from the ship.
11. It is expected that the actual period on board the ship shall be approximate 2 hours.
12. Please ensure that no cigarette lighter is permitted to carry and also use of camera is restricted both on board the oil tanker and at the facilities in oil refinery.
