・Avoid overfilling, and discourage customers from topping up fuel tanks once the automatic cut-off shows that the tank is full.

・Regularly inspect and maintain fuel storage and dispensing facilities.

・Use drip trays to ensure that spills and leaks do not pollute the environment.

・Take appropriate precautions when handling leaded fuels to minimise potential health risks to yourself and customers.

Draining waste liquids

。?rain all waste liquids, such as engine oil, into trays and then pour it into storage containers. Doing this thoroughly and immediately reduces the handling of waste liquids and minimises the potential for spills. Never allow waste liquid to drain onto the floor or ground.

Solvents

Solvents used in strippers and cleaners evaporate into the atmosphere and contribute to photochemical smog formation. Solvents tend to be highly volatile and flammable.

。?tore solvents away from heat, naked flames, direct sunlight, oil or other flammable liquids. Avoid unnecessary exposure to solvents by storing them in a covered container with a tap (to avoid the need to pour). Keep the storage area well ventilated.

。?eep containers closed when they are not in use. This will limit evaporation and unnecessary loss of solvent. Avoid spraying solvent. Use only a steady stream or brush to gently agitate the parts being cleaned.

。?se water-based or biodegradable strippers, cleaners or degreasers wherever possible.
