2. The pink or rose-coloured tender nodules of ENL are often seen on the face and limbs, but may be generalised, as seen here in a patient who had lesions over the whole trunk area. In some cases, ENL nodules may become vesicular, pustular, bullous or gangrenous and break down with considerable tissue damage. Mild cases may be handled under field conditions, but those with severe symptoms and/or involvement of peripheral nerves, eyes or testicles are usually better managed in a referral centre or special unit. Type 2 reartion.
