MIRAFLORES 3,600,000-cft Woodchip Carrier
The 3.6 million-cft woodchip carrier MIRAFLORES was delivered to Manila Transworld Carriers, Inc.of the Philippines in July 1999 at the Mizushima Works and Shipyard of Sanoyas Hishino Meisho Corporation.This is the 2nd vessel of 3.6 million-cft woodchip carrier developed by Sanoyas.
Features
1. The vessel has a bulbous bow, a transom stern and an aft sunken deck.The engine room and accommodation space are located aft.
2. The cargo space is divided into six cargo holds with hopper bottom. The frame arrangement in the cargo space is designed for facilitation of woodchip loading and unloading.
3. No.4 cargo hold is also used as a water ballast tank.
The double-bottom space of the hold section is used for water ballast tanks and fuel oil tanks.
4. Cargo handling equipment is 975-t / h, and woodchip unloading system consists of three high speed cranes, four hoppers and conveyers.
5. End-folding hatch covers driven by hydraulic cylinders for opening and closing, and hatch openings are maximized to facilitate cargo handling.
6. Hold access is in compliance with AWWF.
7. A Propeller Boss Cap Fins (PBCF) is adopted to improve propulsive efficiency and performance.
8. The hull is classed by NK NS* and the machinery is classed and distinguished by the class notation MNS* M0 for unmanned system in the engine room.
