TEAM JUPITER 48,338-dwt Product / Chemical Carrier
The 48,338-dwt product / chemical carrier TEAM JUPITER was delivered to Team Tankers Shipping AS of Norway in February 2000 at the Mizushima Works and Shipyard of Sanoyas Hishino Meisho Corporation.This is the first vessel of the 48,000-dwt type product / chemical carrier newly developed by Sanoyas.
Features
1. The vessel is designed to carry clean & dirty petroleum products, caustic soda of SG 1.53, BTX, Molasses, Vegetable oils, Methanol, etc.
2. The vessel is a flush decker without forecastle and equipped with an electric motor driven bow thruster of 1,200 kW to facilitate maneuvering for berthing / unberthing.
3. The cargo space is of double-hull construction in compliance with the requirements of IMO type 2 ship of IBC code and also for oil tankers of MARPOL regulations.
4. This vessel has nine pairs of cargo tanks and three slop tanks with longitudinal centerline bulkhead to maintain good stability during loading / unloading.
5. Structures protruding into the tanks are minimized by the use of on-deck girder system for the upper deck and vertical corrugated type transverse bulkheads, for efficient cargo handling and easy tank cleaning.
6. Cargo piping system is so deigned that thirteen kinds of cargo can be loaded / unloading simultaneously and each tank has a dedicated hydraulic driven cargo pump of submerged type.
7. The cargo tanks are coated with phenolic epoxy or inorganic zinc paint for carrying various kinds of liquid cargo.
8. Nitrogen (N2) generating system instead of flue gas system is adopted for tank inerting system to keep the inside of tanks clean.
9. Central cooling system is adopted for engine room machinery, air conditioning plant and refrigerating plant to reduce maintenance works.
10. One shaft generator of 520 kW is installed to cover the electric power demand during ocean transport.
