The 78,888 m3 GAS DIANA for Gas Diana Transport Inc. and Malvern Shipholding Ltd. was delivered on June 30, 2000, at Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI).
The vessel is capable of carrying liquefied petroleum gas cargoes of propane, butane or an mixture of them in four (4) independent prismatic type cargo tanks and handling two (2) kinds of cargo simultaneously.
The cargo containment system is designed based on a minimum service temperature of -46℃ and maximum pressure of 28 kPaG.
For efficient cargo handling, the following cargo handling equipment has been provided.
1) two (2) electric motor driven submerged pumps for each cargo tank for cargo handling.
2) an inert gas generator (delivery capacity: 3,000 Nm3) for topping-up the cargo holds with inert gas and inerting the cargo tanks.
3) five (5) reliquefaction compressors (suction capacity: 1,360 m3/h each) for reliquefying the boil off gas.
4) a booster/heater system for cargo discharge.
