The double-hull Aframax tanker BERGITTA was built at Yokosuka Shipyard of Sumitomo Heavy Industries Ltd. and delivered to KS Bergitta in January 2000.

BERGITTA is an Aframax tanker newly developed with Sumitomo's technology for safe reliable and economical operation, and is in compliance with the latest requirements of SOLAS and MARPOL regulations.

1. Optimized hull form and high propulsive efficiency.

2. Hull structure of highest reliability.

3. Double-hull construction for fuel oil tanks as well as cargo oil tanks for prevention of oil pollution.

4. Cargo oil tanks and piping system in triple segregation groups to allow flexible cargo handling.

5. Large capacity cargo oil pump of 3,000 m3.

6. Vapor Emission Control System (VECS) in compliance with USCG requirements.

7. Facility for pump-room safety in compliance with OCIMF / ISGOTT requirement.

8. Well designed ballast tank access for easy maintenance and inspection.

9. Impressed current cathodic protection system for underwater hull.

10. Tin-free anti-fouling paint for underwater hull to prevent marine pollution.

11. Provision for emergency towing on bow and stern.

12. Fresh water firefighting system in accommodation space.

13. Loading computer system with on-line input device for cargo level.
