6. CONCLUSION

Many users of marine and stationary diesel engines are desiring such cylinder liners with increased margin for sliding performance that can stand to lubricating oil starvation marginally. MAN B&W Diesel A/S and Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. consider the cylinder liners with spray coated layer as one of the promising candidates, and have been proceeding the full-scale tests on both marine and stationary engines. We will trace the condition of them to confirm the sliding performance and wear rate. After the confirmation, we will optimize the design, perform the final tests, and utilize it as standard in near future.
