The treatment of the flushing oil is different from a continuous and differential triggered backflushing filter. Since the concentration ratio of the differential triggered one is up to ten times higher and the flushing oil quantity is less than 1%.

　

　

Oil should be directly drained to the separator's suction side. The wear reduction is more efficient with selfclean 6.61 installation. This filter can only be used for a system installation. To achieve the best protection for the bearings a duplex filter with 60 micron should be installed as close as possible to the engine.

This filter concept is still one of the most often installed solutions and very often used for power stations and cruise liners.

　

2-stroke engines require 40 - 50 micron filtration, the solid concentration is very low so that filtering velocities of 10 - 161 /cm 2 h are acceptable.

The economical solution is a main lube oil filter, a selfclean 6.44.
