Fig.4(a),(b),(c),(d) show the results of oil film thickness in case of load = 20N, 25N, 30N, 35N about Santotrac 50. In the figures, Oil film thickness and increment of oil film thickness with increase of rolling speed decrease as load increases as well as the case of increase of oil temperature. However, pressure viscosity coefficients is constant even if load change, which is shown in Table 4(b).

From the result of two kind of experiment, characteristics of Santotrac 50 were obtained under EHL condition. Oil film thickness (Fig.5) and pressure viscosity coefficient of Santotrac 70 was obtained by same method as in case of Santotrac 50. Pressure viscosity coefficient is as follows:

Oil Temperature 10 ℃, Load 20N

Pressure Viscosity Coefficient = 27GPa-1

4. CONCLUSION

In conventional experiment, characteristics of oil has been measured by using the apparatus which can controll pressure into a vessel. However, it is to be desired that characeristics of oil is obtained under EHL condition. In this study, pressure viscosity coefficient was obtained by some experiment under EHL condition. The method of experimental characterization of traction oil was indicated.
